The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) IX through its Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG), initiated a Community PanTREE and mobile bloodletting, in line with the celebration of Philippine Environment Month and 159th Anniversary Philippine Forestry Service and Arbor Day.
The Community PanTREE was held at Plaza Luz, Pagadian City on June 23-24, with simultaneous Bloodletting on June 24, 2022 at Pagadian City Covered Court.
A total of approximately 8,400 seedlings of Narra, White lauan, Lumbayao, Bakan, Mindanao Nato, Red Nato and many more were distributed during the two day Community PanTREE to 245 participants. Prior to the distribution of free seedlings they were lectured on environmental laws regarding the illegal cutting of trees and which species is permissible to be given a cutting permit and which are not permissible.
Meanwhile, in the mobile bloodletting which was in collaboration with Society of Filipino Foresters Incorporated (SFFI) and Philippine Red Cross (PRC), 62 bags of blood were donated coming from the pool of participants from DENR IX, Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Air Force (PAF), Philippine Army, Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DepEd) Pagadian City Local Government Unit (LGU), ROTC students from Pagadian Capitol College (PCC), Zamboanga del Sur National High School (ZNHS), St. Columban Collegae (SCC), and Southern Mindanao College (SMC).
In both events exciting games and limited edition prized such as TAK string bag, TAK bag, environmental cutlery, eco-bag, tote bag, and many more were prepared by the DENR team for the participants.
