On April 18, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Assistant Secretary for Field Operations – Western Mindanao Arleigh J. Adorable addressed officials and staff during the Special Monday Convocation conducted in honor of the ASec’s visit in the regional office.
“Each and every one of us has a role to play in achieving our targets,” Asec Adorable said. “We need to understand, take ownership of our roles and responsibilities and do things given the nature of our positions in order for us to function like a well-oiled machine.”
In his message, ASec Adorable expounded on the proper implementation of DENR’s management strategies, on the importance of capacity-building trainings, as well as encouraging DENR IX to recommend policy changes that will help in the government’s economic recovery efforts in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to ASec Adorable, one of the strategies that the DENR can contribute to economic recovery is by eliminating bureaucratic red tape and making it easier for investors to invest.
“The regional offices must be given the leeway to decide on matters such as the appraisal of our foreshore areas,” said ASec Adorable. “We just need to ensure that there are necessary safeguards such as the Provincial Foreshore Management Plan that will identify the go and no-go areas.”
Asec Adorable emphasized that although the DENR mandate is hard, personnel should always strive to deliver the services expected from us. “There is no secret formula to success. It will always have to be hard work, dedication and the passion to do things,” he added.
Ronald D. Gadot, DENR IX’s In-charge of the Office of the Regional Executive Director and ARD for Technical Services committed to give the region’s best efforts and gave various reminders and instructions to the different regional division chiefs in the accomplishment of the region’s annual targets.
