A place formed through time, enfolding deep pasts yet to be told and histories aged as old as eras. This scenic waterfall is seated on a set of columnar basalt, a volcanic rock formed from a cooling molten magma in a prehistoric time when volcanism and magmatic activities were still active in the area.
The existence of this landscape is yielded by histories that were staged by numerous geological processes, including volcanism, faulting, uplifting, and erosion. These geological elements act on a scale of extensive to minute working and continually shaping the earth’s surface.
The area was considered part of a protected area and a proposed eco-tourism site that is still to be developed and regulated in Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur.
The shot was taken during the Geohazard Assessment for the Environmentally-Critical and Tourism Oriented Areas.
