CENRO RM Released 17 Hatchlings

On March 3, 2023 CENRO Ramon Magsaysay personnel released 17 hatchlings of Olive Ridley Turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) to the coastal waters of Barangay White Beach in Pagadian City as part of the World Wildlife Day Celebration.

Mrs. Norgen D. Belone, a resident of the aforementioned Barangay, noticed her dog barking near the temporary fence/cage where a marine turtle was reportedly nesting on January 4, 2023. She quickly informed Councilor Rolando Bongcawil who thereafter reported the incident to the Coastal Resources Management Unit Chief of CENRO Ramon Magsaysay.

On the same day, the hatchlings were released back to the coastal waters of the said barangay, following an inspection and proper documentation.
