Siocon Community Environment and Natural Resources Officer Rey A. Jalandoni challenges the youth to be involved in environmental activities particularly against illegal logging activities during the Oath Taking Ceremony of the Officers and Leaders of Siocon National High School Supreme Student Government (SSG), Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O), Barkada Kontra Droga (BKD) Organization, and Sionahayz Artist Guild (SAG) on April 1, 2022 in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
 
Citing the covenant recently entered by the Siocon National High School Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) and Sionahayz Artist Guild on the national movement of Tayo ang Kalikasan (TAK), CENR Officer Rey A. Jalandoni speaks in front of youth leaders about one of the alarming issues of the environment which is Illegal Logging, how it affects everyone and how the youth can help.
 
“Illegal Logging is still a recognized problem in the global, regional and ocal scale. The DENR, in collaboration with the police, military and other stakeholders, is doing its best to intensify the Anti-Illegal Logging efforts to combat the devastation and destruction of our environment and natural resources for the present and future generations”. CENRO Jalandoni said during his speech.
 
“It is a challenge for you, youth leaders to make your contribution for the environment” as CENRO Jalandoni emphasized the paramount importance of youth involvement in forest conservation and protection.
 
Lastly, CENRO Jalandoni expressed his gratitude and lauded the leadership of Mrs. Evelyn M. Malbacias, Coordinator of YES-O and the Siocon National High School Principal Mr. Marlon P. Micubo for the youth who actively participated in environmental activities conducted by the Department.
