Three youth organizations of Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte has signified their intention to join the national movement on becoming Tayo Ang Kalikasan (TAK) chapters after attending an environmental forum conducted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region IX yesterday March 22.
 
The Siocon Federation of Sangguniang Kabataan, Siocon National High School and Julian Soriano Memorial Comprehensive High School Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YES-O) signs the TAK covenant upon the conclusion of the Mini Environmental Forum at the sangguniang bayan session hall, Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.
 
Signatories to the TAK Covenant include Siocon SK Federation President Herwina N. Esmali, YES-O Adviser of Julian Soriano Memorial Comprehensive High School Dominique F. Casano and Siocon National High School YES-O President Althea Mae T. Jamandron and was witnessed by CENRO Rey Jalandoni and RYDO Roservirico Tan.
 
The activity was made in celebration of World Water Day and International Day of Forest and spearheaded by the Regional Strategic Communication and Initiatives Group (RSCIG), Regional Youth Desk Officer, Siocon Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) headed by CENRO Rey Jalandoni, Siocon MENRO Felizardo Canama, MGB IX and EMB IX.
 
These organizations pledged to implement various environmental activities within their schools and communities as their contribution to helping conserve and protect the environment and natural resources within the locality.
 
Earlier, these youth organizations joined the bamboo culm planting at the river banks of Siocon River together with RSCIG, CENRO Siocon and Bureau of Fire Protection personnel in celebration of World Water Day and International Day of Forest.
 
Tayo ang Kalikasan is envisioned to be a collaborative effort of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and its citizens toward responsible development of our natural resources and to ensure the restoration, rehabilitation, and enhancement of the environment.
