Zamboanga del Norte … the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Liloy Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Unit (PAMBCU) personnel celebrated World Migratory Bird’s Day 2021 with the theme “Sing, Fly, Soar -Like a Bird” by monitoring the Philippine Ducks (Anas luzonica) at Kalawit Lake, Kalawit, Zamboanga del Norte on October 9, 2021.
The Philippine duck is rated vulnerable on the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List. The species has experienced steep population decreases since the 1970s mainly due to hunting and habitat loss.
