Planting bamboo is a great way to reduce carbon footprint and help ease global warming as it releases 35% more oxygen compared to an equivalent mass of trees and it is excellent in absorbing greenhouse gases.

Bamboo has a significant economic use and it is an excellent wood substitute. It is now being considered as “Green Gold” because of its variability in the global market along with its renewable resources.

DENR IX will continue to promote the importance of bamboo and its products to stakeholders in the pursuit to develop sustainable bamboo plantations.

Precautionary measures were observed during the activity in consideration to health protocol set by the local IATF.
