In celebration of the International Day of Forest with the theme: “Forest Restoration: A Path to Recovery and Well-Being” and World Water Day with the theme: “Valuing Water”, the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Piñan headed by Dr. Adelaida R. Borja conducted a Paralegal Orientation on Forestry and Environmental Laws, Rules and Regulations for members of the Anti-illegal Logging Task Group (AILTG) at the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office (PENRO) of Zamboanga del Norte Conference room, Sta. Isabel, Dipolog City on March 25, 2021.
The activity was attended by representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine Coast Guard and Philippine Ports Authority in Zamboanga del Norte.
Regional Executive Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez, in her message, expressed her gratitude to the AILTG members for their support to the initiatives of the department in implementing Forestry and Environmental Rules and Regulations.
The resource speakers for the orientation includes Assistant Regional Director for Technical Services For. Ronald D. Gadot, Protected Area Management and Biodiversity Conservation Section Chief For. Brendelyn Madarang and Deputy CENRO For. Romeo C. Tala.
This activity aims to strengthen the Anti-Illegal Logging Task Group by equipping them with the knowledge on ENR laws, rules and regulation and increasing their efficiency on enforcing the law.
