ITUBO, Tampilisan, ZN – Enforcement personnel from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR)- Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) of Liloy in Zamboanga del Norte, in collaboration with elements of the Tampilisan Municipal Police Station, was able to apprehend illegal lumber found abandoned Monday of this week in Barangay Situbo, Tampilisan, ZDN.
 
The joint CENRO and PNP team, who acted on a tip provided by an anonymous caller, was able to apprehend 184 pieces of Bangkal lumber with corresponding volume of One Thousand Four Hundred Sixty Six (1,466) board feet with an estimated value of Php 58,653.20.
 
The seizure was made for violating Section 78 of Presidential Decree 705 as amended by Executive Order 277 or the Revised Forestry Code of the Philippines.
 
The apprehended lumber is now placed and deposited at the DENR Sub-station in Gatas, Kalawit, Zamboanga del Norte for safekeeping pending further investigation.
