A Philippine Serpent Eagle (Spilornis holospilus) trapped in the Bagsakan area in Brgy. Sta. Lucia, Pagadian City was retrieved and rescued by PENRO Zamboanga del Sur last August 10, 2023.

A concerned citizen brought the concern of a trapped wildlife to DENR through phone call. The wildlife was determined to be healthy and in good condition. Its wingspan measures to more than 2 feet. It was immediately brought to the DENR-IX Regional Wildlife Rescue Center in Brgy. Baclay, Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur the next day. It shall stay there until it is ready to be released back to its natural habitat.

The DENR encourages the public to immediately report any sighting of wildlife concerns through the official hotline and SNS sites of the agency.
