The DENR-CENRO Manukan of Zamboanga del Norte joined the conduct of tree planting activity by the 97th Infantry (KALASAGLAHI) Batallion, 1st Infantry (TABAK) Division, and the Philippine Army held along Dicayo River at Brgy. Matam, Katipunan, Zamboanga del Norte on May 05, 2023.

The activity was in line with AFP’s Annual Program Based (APB) for CY 2023 Activities which aims to protect the surrounding areas; reduce the amount of storm water runoff, erosion and pollution in our water ways and reduce the effect of flooding.

Participated by a total of forty (40) tree planters from CENRO Manukan, 97th IB Philippine Army (PA), teachers from Gonzalo Reinante National High School, Barangay Matam Local Government Unit and the local residents. A total of 170 indigenous trees comprising of Narra and Lumbayao species were planted in the area.
