CENRO Siocon kicks off PCSA celebration with a lecture

CENRO Siocon headed by its CENR Officer Rey Jalandoni kicks off the month-long celebration of the 123rd Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA) through a lecture among its employees on September 5, 2023, at the office's conference room.

The celebration depicts the 10-year overarching theme "Transforming Public Service in the Next Decade: Honing Agile and Future-Ready Servant-Heroes".

In his welcome message, CENRO Jalandoni emphasizes that, as public servants, we should perform our duties and functions effectively, efficiently, and with the utmost integrity. He also expressed that we must adhere to DENR core values when serving the public.

CENRO Jalandoni reminded the employees to strive for excellence at all times, to be better, to have resilience, and to deliver services fairly, impartially, and courteously to the public.

Atty. Lovely S. Kho-Cualteros, Legal Researcher of the office, discussed Republic Act 6713, or the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees". Atty. Cualteros reminded the employees that a public office is a public trust.

Afterwards, the activity was highlighted by a role-play of the duties of public officials and employees.

DMO-IV Rossel Leo I. Cardenas stated in his closing remarks that a series of activities for the said celebration will be undertaken per the memorandum of CENRO Jalandoni that will serve as a gentle reminder of the duties, responsibilities, and commitment to the public. He added that employees must find within themselves the true meaning of public servant, which somehow reflects on the respective responsibilities and challenges they encounter along the way.

Civil Service Month is celebrated every September of the year per Presidential Proclamation No. 1050, Series of 1997. This year's 123rd anniversary celebration focuses on the importance of cultivating dynamism among government workers to, in turn, foster sustainable management and strengthen organizational resilience.
