The administrative jurisdiction CENRO Guipos lies within the 2nd Congressional District of Zamboanga del Sur and is the largest in Region IX with a total land area of 201,871 hectares. Starting from the coastal plains of Baganian Peninsula and stretching North to the municipalities of Lakewood and Bayog, CENRO Guipos is also the biggest CENRO in terms forest cover and natural resources.

 The CENR Office of Guipos was established in the early part of year 2000 under the redistricting policy of the department. It comprises fifteen (15) municipalities namely: Bayog, Dimataling, Dinas, Dumalinao, Guipos, Kumalarang, Lakewood, Lapuyan, Margosatubig, Pitogo, San Pablo, San Miguel, Tabina, Tigbao and Vincenzo Sagun.

           The district is predominantly rich in agriculture, mineral and fish industry whose products include coco oil, livestock feed milling, rice/corn milling, including the processing of fruits, gifts and house wares made from indigenous materials like handmade paper, roots, rattan, buri, and bamboo; wood-based manufacture of furniture and furniture components from wood, rattan, and bamboo; marine and aquaculture including support services; construction services and manufacture of marble, concrete, and wooden construction materials. The municipality of Bayog, which lies adjacent to the provinces of Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte is rich in mineral resources as evident by two mining firms operating in the municipality, Toronto Ventures Incorporated (a Canadian-based mining firm which concentrates on gold mining), and the Cebu Ore Mining which is handling the Ore-Copper-Steel mines.

Submit a letter request indicating number of seedlings (max of 1,000 seedlings per request) and sketch map of the proposed plantation.

March 15, Zamboanga City -- DENR-9 OIC-Regional Director Felix S.
